Alan started fishing the San Diego Bays and lakes at just 5 years old with his dad and brothers. He was a natural, soon tackling tuna and other pelagic species in the open ocean as well.
His freshwater bass fishing accomplishments include an Angler of the Year in the Southland Bass Club, over 10 local team tournament wins with many “Big Fish” awards. A great feat with the stiff competition in and amongst the San Diego competitors.
For the last 25 years, he has worked on his craft and the art of finding and catching BIG fish. When you fish with him, you’ll not only be catching fish, but learning some of those secret techniques he’s perfected over decades of time spent on the water – and all the while, having a great time!
Clowers prides himself on working well with kids and anglers of all skill levels – from the absolute beginner that’s never fished before, to seasoned veterans. What makes a good fishing guide is being able to tailor each and every trip to the client(s) – no client is the same, and no trip is the same. To earn repeat business, Alan goes out of his way to ensure each and every client has the best possible trip based on their unique circumstances.
He holds a Master 100 Ton Captain’s License, California Guide License, is insured and bonded, and is CPR/First-Aid Certified!
